| GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. October 7, 2008 Mike Sturm, vice president of engineering for Taylor Made Systems, has announced two important appointments for the company’s New Product Development (NPD) Team.
James Hoehn, Jr. takes the reins as director of the NPD Team and Ryan Hoban joins the group as industrial designer. As key members of the engineering team, they will be responsible for adapting innovations in design, engineering and technology to the Taylor Made product line.
“New product development is the life’s blood of any company, especially in difficult market conditions,” said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, Taylor Made Systems. “That’s why we continue to invest heavily in our NPD Team. These talented and experienced engineers will play an important role in creating innovative leading-edge solutions while reducing the turnaround time from drawing board to production line to meet customer
requirements.”
In addition to running his own luxury goods company, Terforma, for the last several years, Hoehn served as senior development engineer for PlugPower, working in fuel cell systems development. Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years in various engineering positions for Intermagnetics General, a company that manufactures magnetic superconductor products used in the healthcare industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., and he has been awarded two functional U.S. patents for assembly part design.
Prior to joining Taylor Made Systems, Hoban spent seven years as a designer for Konopka Architecture. His duties concentrated on conceptual design, but also ranged into graphic design and construction management. He has his Bachelor of Art degree in Industrial Design from Rochester Institute of Technology.
In announcing the appointments, Oathout said, “All of our customers have their own sense of style and desired look. Our goal is to offer that uniqueness and help our customers become more successful. The skill sets that both James and Ryan bring will allow us to do just that.”
Oathout added, “Our customers expect Taylor Made Systems to be always on the search for ‘what’s next’ in design and innovation. With these key additions to our already strong team, we will continue to stay not only ahead of our competition but also our customers.”
