| GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. October 8, 2008 New from Taylor Made Systems for 2009 is the Panoramic Foredeck Vent, which is designed to provide ample natural light and cross ventilation to a boat’s forward cabin.
“The name says it all,” said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, Taylor Made Systems. “This foredeck vent provides soft natural light by day and an extraordinary celestial view by night. Plus, it increases comfort by improving air flow throughout the cabin.” Designed for the forward cabin of any cruiser, the panoramic foredeck vent offers a modern answer to an age-old complaint by boaters. “Often the vee-shaped forward area of a boat can feel enclosed and claustrophobic,” said Oathout. “In the past, boatbuilders have solved this problem by placing one, two or even three small hatches in the front of their cabin cruisers. With this new product, Taylor Made Systems offers an innovative solution designed specifically to give a greater feeling of openness to that space.” The watertight panoramic foredeck vent is pneumatically operated, opening and closing by means of quiet air-powered gas cylinders. The power-actuation system includes pinch protection and can be manually closed in the event of power failure. The new product gives boatbuilders a multitude of design options with custom configurations. It can be made with reflective coated glass to minimize heat gain or polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) privacy glass that offers instant on/off visibility with the flick of a switch. The fully welded, powder-coated frameless design with invisible hinges gives a sleek modern look on deck. The unit is manufactured to meet ISO 12216:2002 for the deck area, and anti-slip options are available that will meet ISO 15085:2003.
