FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TAYLOR MADE SYSTEMS TO CONSOLIDATE OPERATIONS FROM FLORIDA FACILITY AND MOVE PRODUCTION TO GLOVERSVILLE, NY

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. — March 13, 2009 — Taylor Made Systems, the world’s largest manufacturer of marine glazing systems and the acknowledged leader in framed-glass windshield technology for powerboats, has announced that it will consolidate its operations and mothball its Bradenton, Florida facility, an action aimed at keeping their factory overhead inline with current market conditions.

One of five Taylor Made Systems facilities in the U.S. that manufacture windshields for recreational powerboats, the Bradenton plant will wind down production over the next few months.

Additionally, Taylor Made Systems has taken advantage of this opportunity to consolidate their U.S.-based engineering/design team and customer service department into their Gloversville, N.Y. facility, which will remain in full operation.

“As our marine customers find it necessary to reduce staffing levels and cut production rates even further than they did in 2008, we too must bring our floor plan in line with what we might term the ‘cold, hard facts’ of the current market climate,” said Al Petit, President of Taylor Made Systems. “Doing so will ensure that Taylor Made Systems stays both at optimum health for the duration of this downturn and, very importantly, poised to be an even higher-value supplier to our customers when the market does rebound.”

“Our position remains strong as the number one supplier of marine glazing systems, windshields and glass for recreational boat builders both at home and abroad,” commented Mike Oathout, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Taylor Made Systems. “Even in this down economy, our company is experiencing positive gains in market penetration. These changes to our infrastructure will bring additional jobs back to Fulton County. This is critical in maintaining, and even growing, the talented work force that this area has always provided for our company.”

To better utilize Taylor Made Systems’ overall production capacity, production at Bradenton will be moved to both Gloversville, N.Y. and Kendallville, Ind. production facilities, which, along with their glass manufacturing facility in Payne, Ohio, will all remain in full operation. The final impact of these production shifts on staff levels at those locations is still being determined but is expected to be highly positive.

“These plants have always contained the core staffing of the Taylor Made Systems division,” said Oathout, “And we’re confident that this necessary realignment of our facilities will result in a positive impact for them. We will increase production levels by replacing the lower volumes that we’ve been experiencing as a result of the current state of the global marine market, and economy in general, with orders from the mothballed Bradenton facility.”

Wally Hart, President of the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry, located in Gloversville, NY, of which Taylor Made Systems is a member, said of this announcement, “Taylor Made Systems has been, and will now continue to be, a strong partner in our business community. We are grateful that the decision to consolidate and keep these jobs in Fulton County, and the possibility of creation of new positions at Taylor Made Systems in Gloversville in this economic climate is just further proof of the company’s 100+ years of commitment to our community.”
