| GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. October 30, 2007 Expanding upon the application of one of the company’s most forward-looking products, Taylor Made Systems announces the Integrated Tower System (ITS) for hardtop boats.
Initially designed to meld wakeboard towers and windshields into one clean, sleek unit, the ITS Hardtop provides the same advantages for the saltwater market as the original ITS did for the sport boat and towboat markets. “The saltwater market is one of the fastest growing and consistently strong markets in the marine industry,” said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, Taylor Made Systems. “Nowadays, most of these boats come equipped with hardtops. Our market research determined that a major consumer concern with hardtop towers is that they can impede the vision of the boat operator due to their size and design. We have overcome this problem by anchoring the tower directly into the windshield wing frames — allowing for improved visibility at the driving station.” The ITS Hardtop consists of a Taylor Made windshield with a robust welded wing section. Attached to the top of the wings are patented “Wake-Tek” joints, which secure the hardtop tower to the top of the wing, resulting in a hardtop unit that is equally as stable, strong and durable as any attached to the boat deck. Furthermore, they permit electrical wires and cables for lights and antennas to be routed internally through the windshield and tower system, greatly reducing the risk of exposure to the salt air and environment. Additionally, the wings conceal their own unique mounting system, leaving no exposed bolts or screws — meaning less clutter and fewer holes on the boat deck. “The net result is easier installation, a cleaner-looking design and increased customer satisfaction, giving any company that incorporates this cutting edge product onto one of their boats an immediate competitive advantage,” said Oathout.
