TREND MARINE INSTALLS ADVANCED DIGITAL GLASS PRINTING PROCESS

GREAT YARMOUTH, U.K. – December 5, 2006 – Trend Marine Products has installed a new digital printing process for applying ceramic ink to toughened glass at the company’s production facility near Norwich, U.K.

This digital glass printing system is believed to be the only one of its kind in use in the marine industry, enabling much larger single piece side windows up to 10.5 ft. to be printed for large yachts and powerboats. The new printing process was added to the glass production process as a result of client feedback and the increasing demand for larger yachts, and therefore, larger single piece windows.

The process also reduces the production time for getting the first set of glass printed and onto the new boats, thus reducing the development cycle times for the boat builder. Additionally, the new digital system allows for adjustments to the ceramic ink pattern, which results in greater flexibility for the development teams if banding widths require alterations.

“This new technology is just one of a number of recent efforts designed to keep us at the forefront of glass window production in the marine industry,” said Nick Riska, North American sales manager for Trend Marine Products.
