| GLOVERSVILLE, NY January 23, 2006 Taylor Made Systems has unveiled a patented new mounting system for attaching a wakeboard tower, tuna tower, radar arch or other tubular structures to the windshield or deck.
The unique WakeTec Mounting System incorporates a totally watertight pass-through fitting that permits electrical wires and connections to be run inside the tubes, protecting them from the elements for greater safety and longevity. The unique clamp locking mechanism makes it easy to fold the tower or remove it for storage with no special tools and no loose parts to drop overboard. The fitting provides room for up to eight wires, and the wire connector block makes it easy to unplug the wires when removing the tower. The mounting system allows for 10-degree variation in all directions for flexibility in mounting to different surfaces, and is designed to swivel 180 degrees in the fore-and-aft direction to fold the tower when not in use. "We have designed this innovative and unique mounting mechanism to provide maximum flexibility in attaching all types of towers and tubular structures to virtually any mounting surface," said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, for Taylor Made Systems. "The product has been extensively tested to provide a robust and reliable solution that will make it easier for our OEM customers to design and build attractive and functional tower structures for new boats."
