| GLOVERSVILLE, NY December 19, 2005 Taylor Made Systems today announced that Sea Ray will be installing its new integrated wakeboard tower system on new boat models in 2006.
The integrated tower system was developed by Taylor Made Systems, the world’s leading boat windshield producer, in collaboration with Xtreme Marine, a major builder of wakeboard towers. The integrated solution anchors the tower frame directly into the windshield wing frames, using Taylor Made’s patented new WakeTek flexible mounting mechanism. Sea Ray plans to offer the integrated tower system on the 270SD, 250SLX and two other boat models next year. Pat Blake, vice president of sales for Sea Ray sports boats, said, "We are delighted to be the first to incorporate this exciting new integrated tower and windshield system into our new boat models. Taylor Made has worked very hard with our engineers and designers to incorporate this new technology into our new boats." Oathout noted that the integrated tower system has been tested at over 3,000 lbs of static pull at a 90-degree angle and 1,800 lbs at 45 degrees. This is better than twice the generally accepted industry standard for wakeboard towers. "We want to give full credit to our partners at Xtreme Marine, who have been instrumental in researching, developing and testing this system," said Oathout. "This has been a totally collaborative effort on the part of their engineering team and ours."
