| GLOVERSVILLE, NY – November 17, 2004 – At IBEX 2004, Taylor Made Systems, the world’s leading supplier of windshields and glass products for boatbuilders, showcased a new range of products and solutions targeted at the burgeoning megayacht market.
"Our recent merger with Trend Marine permits us to take advantage of engineering expertise and production capacity in very large glass products for megayachts," said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing, for Taylor Made Systems. "We are launching the first in a totally new range of products developed specifically for boats 70 to 200 feet." New products shown for the first time at IBEX included very large stainless steel doors, robust pantograph doors, large-diameter stainless steel portlights, extra-large hydraulic-operated drop windows, sliding power entry doors, watertight companionway doors and power-activated roof systems. "The new strategic initiative in the megayacht sector reflects our commitment to internal research and development at Taylor Made Systems, bolstered by Trend Marine’s extensive facilities for product development and manufacturing for much larger glass systems," said Oathout. "For instance, we can now make glass products up to 19mm thick, meeting the most rigorous standards for strength and safety."
