Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I run my boat while FastBack is installed (up position)?
A: Yes, care should be taken for proper ventilation as established by ABYC for safe boating.
Q: Can I buy my enclosure color matched to my present canvas?
A: Yes, we match the original equipment color with the same Sunbrella® fabric original. Be sure to specify color with the year of your model for correct match.
Q: Will I still be able to use my aft cover for storage?
A: Yes, we use same snaps and zippers that are now on your boat. Our Versa-snap* assures correct snap location without using any special tools.
Q: How long does it take to put up or take down?
A: It takes 5 to 10 minutes to put up or take down your FastBack. About the same procedure that you now use to stow your aft cover.
Q: Are there any fittings installed on my boat?
A: Yes, there are three brackets that are pop riveted to the main frame of the sunbonnet on the aft part of the radar arch. Three brackets are also installed on the transom just above the hinge for the transom storage locker.
Q: Do the vinyl windows open?
A: Yes, the windows zip open from the top and may be partially opened for ventilation control or zipped open completely and rolled up with straps to hold securely.
Q: Are screens included with the windows to keep out insects?
A: Yes, screens are sewn in all the windows that zip open.
Q: Does my FastBack enclosure keep out insects?
A: The bottom of the FastBack is secured the same as your aft curtain. We include additional snap studs so if you desire, you can add some to make the fit more secure.
Q: How do I stow my enclosure?
A: A zippered stowage bag is supplied, and the tempered aluminum poles fold down in three sections that are no more that 36” long. When the enclosure is folded and in the bag it is approximately 13” in diameter and 50” long.
Q: How much does the complete enclosure weigh?
A: Completely boxed for shipment, the average weight is 25 pounds.
