PRODUCTION COACH

Job Summary:
Overall responsibility for directing and managing of production department and activities. Including responsibility for staffing/coaching of associates to ensure that customer expectations and production targets are met. Ensure all quality and safety policies are implemented and followed.

Essential Functions:
- Departmental planning for safety, cost, production levels, manpower and associate morale; as well as achievement of planned results.
- Contribute to strategic planning regarding staffing, operational targets, monthly P&L, machine utilization, and labor efficiencies at the departmental level.
- Ensure associates’ quality awareness and commitment to Taylor Made and verify their understanding and knowledge of work instructions, tools, equipment, gauges, facilities and material before they engage in actual production activities. Verify the management of process performance, performance measures and implementation of operational improvement plans.
- Plan team staffing requirements. Direct supervision of hourly personnel, measurement of their performance; verify their adherence to meeting customer expectations, quality system requirements company policies, rules and practices.
- Evaluating, disciplining and terminating associates within the Production department in conjunction with Human Resources and the General Manager.
- Development, implementation and improvements to current production operations as well as production planning for future programs. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of capacity planning, machine utilization improvement planning, lean techniques, and financial management. Will have direct financial responsibilities for all departmental budget targets, plans, and results.
- Ensure team efficiency is maintained at the highest possible level without sacrificing safety, quality, or cost standards.
- Comply with the designated ISO responsibilities. Health and Safety rules and practices and OSHA policies, procedures and practices and ensure the facility is clean and organized.
- Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
- Promote and seek excellence in all aspects of the business and any other duties as directed by management.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Involved in all accident/incident investigation process.
- Conduct safety talks with associates.
- Train new associates.
- Correct all unsafe acts and conditions.
- Correct and commend all safety performance.
- Conduct Performance Appraisals for worker safety performance.

Requirements:
- AAS Degree or equivalent manufacturing supervision experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.

Skills & Competencies:
- Well versed and demonstrated abilities of Lean techniques.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Skilled in problem solving, analysis, manufacturing tooling, machine set-up, work instructions and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO requirements.
- Knowledge of customers’ trends, perceptions, needs and expectations.
- Communicate clearly with customer focused vision.
- Assign the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.
